The Stockton Foresters Drama Group
(Officially "Stockton Foresters Drama and Choral Association"!)
Incredibly, the Stockton Foresters first began over eighty years ago, and we still meet every Tuesday in the Village Hall at 7.30pm. We produce two plays a year, usually in late May and late November. Our repertoire has included classics, such as Hobson's Choice, Blithe Spirit and When We are Married and we've also tackled plays by Terry Pratchet, Alan Ayckbourn, Agatha Christie and local playwrights. Whatever we choose, it's usually a sell-out and hugely enjoyed as much by us as by the viewing public.
We welcome new members, whether or not they wish to tread the boards. Indeed, the backstage and behind the scene workers are indispensable and highly valued. Set builders, wardrobe organisers, props providers, electricians, media/marketing experts, and (on show nights) front of house people to serve behind the bar, sell raffle tickets and meet 'n' greet the audience at the door.....all would find a welcome.
The enthusiasm in the group is catching and we do lead a lively and active social life as well as a make-believe one! We share a few drinks and a lot of laughs together after rehearsals around 10 o'clock and we have at least two gatherings a year plus the after-show parties and occasional group visits to other shows.
New members would be most welcome to join us whether or not a play has been cast- we can always use as many hands as possible back stage and front of house.
The sense of community and feeling of belonging is truly rewarding.
Come for a taster - you won't regret it!

WHEN WE MEET
We're always looking for new members: onstage, backstage, front of house (all equally important!)
We rehearse on a Tuesday evening 7:30pm until 10pm or thereabouts, usually followed by a well earned drink.
