Stockton and Hopgrove
Luncheon Club
The Stockton and Hopgrove Luncheon Club is a spin off from the “Good Neighbours” which was formed many many years ago. It was a voluntary service to anyone who needed help; mostly the elderly, bereaved, or lonely. Lots of people did all sorts of tasks gardening, shopping, collecting pills and visiting. At that time lots of people needed a hot meal and these were cooked at the pub and then delivered to their homes. Eventually the numbers dwindled and we thought a social afternoon would be nice so people could still have some company.
We now meet at Forest Park Golf Club every month and everyone is welcome.
The luncheon club is open to anyone from the area of any age (sorry no children) and takes place every month, from 12 noon for 12.30pm lunch.
Dates are posted on the village noticeboards and in the village newsletter.
Good Food, Good Company
